18 July 2012 – At a ceremony on Tuesday, a newly constructed 20-bed hospital was opened in Sarobi district of Paktika province, officials said.

15 July 2012 - The long-standing land dispute between two sub-tribes of a local tribe, continued for almost five centuries over 15,000 jiribs (3,000 hectares) of land, has been resolved through negotiations and Jirga system in Paktya province.

TAKHAR: Rising waters displace many families

15 July 2012 – Residents of 10 villages in Qulbars and Chashmaee Shir areas of Taloqan, the provincial capital of Takhar Province, have been displaced due to rising waters caused by flashfloods, according to Government authorities.

HERAT: Publication of Etafaq-i-Islam daily suspended

11 July 2012 - Today, for the fourth day in a row, Etafaq-i-Islam daily newspaper in Herat Province could not be published. The reason for suspension of publication has been financial issues, according to the newspaper and the provincial Department of Information and Culture.

9 July 2012 – The National Solidarity Programme (NSP) has completed 36 projects in Shah Wali Kot, Nesh and Arghasan districts of Kandahar province.

NANGARHAR: 18 UNHCR-funded projects completed in rural Behsud district

9 July 2012 – A total of 18 projects related to income generation and local infrastructure development have been completed in Saracha village of Behsud district, Nangarhar province. The UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) had provided US$ 1.4 million for the projects.

HELMAND: 16 kilometres of road opened

8 July 2012 – A 16-kilometre road was opened officially in Lashkargah city, capital of Helmand province, yesterday. The Helmand City Mayor, Mohammad Fazal Safi, participated in the inauguration ceremony along with other officials.

HERAT: Campaigns against measles and polio kick off

8 July 2012 - Public health officials in Herat announced the start of campaigns against measles and polio in the province. The campaign will last for six days. Herat governor encouraged citizens to support the programme. More than 500,000 infants in Herat will receive the jab. UNICEF is funding this 300,000 USD programme.

KUNDUZ: Minister of Energy and Water visits northeastern provinces

8 July 2012 - Mohammad Ismail, the Minister of Energy and Water, led a delegation of his ministry and visited Kunduz and Takhar provinces on Saturday. In Kunduz, he inaugurated the Kunduz-Khanabad irrigation project and a new building of the Amu River Basin.
